Qin and Han Dynasties in History of China

Ying Zheng (ruler of Qin state) defeated the other six states and established the Qin dynasty (221-206) in 221 B.C., which is the first centralized feudal country in China, and he regarded himself far greater than the previous clan-leaders (the so called Three Sovereigns and Five "Emperors") from the prehistoric age, so he claimed himself Emperor Qinshihuang (meaning the first emperor of China) and chose Xianyang (the present Xi'an) as the capital.

A series of far-reaching reforms were conducted during the reign of Emperor Qinshihuang, including establishing the centralization system, introducing a uniformity of weights, measures and Chinese characters, which still have a substantial influence on the people today. Emperor Qinshihuang ordered to build great constructions during his reign as well, including the imperial road, Afang Palace, the Great Wall and his own mausoleum, of which the most well-known one is the Great Wall that stretched from Lintao in the east and Liaodong in the east to resist the attacks from the nomadic tribes in the north. Great importance was attached to the law and the legalist (a school of thought in Warring States Period) Li Si was appointed chancellor to carry out reforms by Emperor Qinshihuang. Under Li Si's proposal, the books of different schools (except Legalist School) were burnt, some Confucian scholars were buried alive and the weapons were taken over by Emperor Qinshihuang.

Emperor Qinshihuang died all of a sudden on his royal progress in 210 B.C., and Hu Hai (the second son of Emperor Qinshihuang) ascended the throne by killing the crown prince Fu Su (the oldest son of Emperor Qinshihuang), claiming himself Emperor Ershi (meaning the second emperor of China). Owning to Emperor Ershi's despotic rule,

Dazexiang Uprising led by Chen Sheng broke out and the previous minister officials of the other Six States rebelled ten month later. Liu Bang rose in revolt and captured Xi'an in 206 B.C., and the last Emperor Ziying of the Qin dyasnty surrendered to Li Bang, resulting in the fall of the Qin dynasty. The war between Chu State led by Xiang Yu and the Han Sate led by Liu Bang broke out in the following years, ending with the death of Xiang Yu.

Liu Bang ascended the throne and established the Han dynasty (206-220) with Chang'an (present Xi'an) as capital, ushering a new era in the history of mankind. A series of policies were taken to reduce corvee and taxes and great importance was attached to farming and manufacturing at the beginning and in the middle age of the Han dynasty, which greatly stimulated the rapid development in economy, culture and military. The Han dynasty was at its peak during the reign of Emperor Wudi, which was titled "One of the Four Great Empires in the World" in addition to the Roman Empire, Anxi Empire and Guishuang Empire, and Emperor Wudi sent Zhang Qian to the Western Regions as an envoy, opening up the world-famous Silk-Road and promoting the culture communication between China and the Western countries.

Beginner's Guide to Timeshare Resale

Timeshare is in fact what the name indicates, a share in time. This share you keep is frequently inside a specific resort, or with a developer or in a vacation club. Marriott, De Vere, Macdonald, Diamond Resorts, Anfi are developers which offer timeshares or timeshare points in one way or another. Owning this share enables you to stay in a given resort for the length of time you have just bought, so for instance buying a timeshare week at Marriott's Marbella Beach will permit you that week (fixed or "floating") annually. Once you're familiar with the possibilities of timeshare it will not be long until you discover the term timeshare resale.

The simplest way of thinking about timeshare resale is akin to having something pre-owned. So as an alternative to buying timeshare directly from a resort or developer you get it from a pre-existing owner who, for whatever reason, is looking to sell their timeshare. Now needless to say this has the benefits associated with buying pre-owned, the most important being cut price timeshares (sometimes up to 65% cheaper!) and skipping an extended sales pitch.

Even though "pre-owned" also suggests a feeling of "second best" of getting something passed down, or abandoned by another person. This is how the resemblances of resales and buying pre-owned begin to vanish. If you are thinking of buying a fixed week unit (i.e. same studio number) inside the same resort, the maintenance costs that are paid yearly are used for the upkeep of the resort's rooms and facilities, which means you'll not feel like you have purchased second hand when you check in.

Buying timeshare resale can be very daunting for people who are approaching it fresh; the truth is that selling timeshare by means of resale can feel the same, even for an experienced owner. This is down to a couple of things fundamentally, firstly the difficulties of the sale and additionally, the standing of some timeshare resales "organizations".

Those looking to buy or sell timeshare must be aware that the process of giving over the paperwork, paying transfer fees and any legal checks that may be involved are usually very necessary and very, very daunting. This is where a resales company or broker really shines; they aid the sale process from advertising, to striking a deal, to working with the transference of documentation, conveyancing and legal checks. This all really means that you just choose the timeshare you wish and get in touch with them if you're thinking of buying or if you're selling your timeshare, just provide them with the details and they will publicise it for you.

Since the economic depression not long ago, there has been an increase in dodgy resellers, businesses that tell you they are working on your behalf but simply end up conning you; propositions from phantom buyers that are not real, requests for enormous sums of money that you will not see again, and quite often more besides. This doesn't signify that all timeshare resales organizations will do this just that you have to be cautious when approaching or being called by them.

One of the greatest things to check for is registration with the Timeshare Association (TATOC) or the other regulating organisations like RDO, ARDA and others. They've got directories of authorized resellers which are regulated stringently by legislation and law and can offer guidance and details concerning the best approach in case you are worried about a specific organization.

With the right approach buying timeshare resale is a safe and more affordable means of going about things rather than going direct to the resort, and the right resales company can go through the legal aspects and challenges of the procedure so that you do not have to.

Enlightenment Age in History of China

The Enlightenment Age refers to the period preceded by the Prehistoric Age and followed by the Xia dynasty (2070 B.C.-1600 B.C.) in Chinese history, when the earliest Chinese civilization took into form in the Yellow River area of Central China. The history in the Enlightenment Age was closely related to the ancient fairy tales, of which two most well-known ones were the Creation of the World by Pan Gu and the Creation of Men by Goddess Nvwa, and the tales have been passed down to the later generations from mouth to mouth and have had a great influence on the traditional Chinese culture.

The legendary Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors were the semi-mythological clan-rulers and the outstanding culture heroes before the Xia dynasty. It's generally considered that the Three Sovereigns are Sui Ren, Fu Xi, Yan Di and the Five Emperors refer to Huang Di, Zhuan Xu, Di Ku, Yao and Shun. Yan Di had a fierce battle with Chiyou tribe for territory, and he was wounded in the battle and asked Huang Di for help. Huang Di won the decisive victory over Chiyou tribe in the battle of Zhuolu (present Hebei Province) by allying the other clan-leaders. In the following years, a conflict between Huang Di and Yan Di broke out, and the former defeated the later in the battle of Banquan and unified the other tribes.

The son and grandson of Huang Di, Zhuan Xu and Di Ku, remained as leaders of the tribe successively, followed by Yao (the Son of Di Ku), who was a wise leader and established the Abdicating System (non-hereditary imperial succession), so Shun was chosen as Yao's successor. It was said that the deluge spread without restriction during the reign of Shun, and Gun (father of Yu the Great) led the people to fight it under Shun's order, resulting in failure. Shun sentenced Gun to death and cut his head off in anger, and Yu (son of Gun) was chosen to fight the deluge. Instead of blocking the water with soil (as Gun did), Yu tamed the deluge eventually through diverting the river into the sea step by step, and he was chosen as the leader of the tribe by Shun for his great contribution to all the people, so the later generations call him Yu the Great to show respect toward him.

Qi (the son of Yu) killed the clan-leader appointed by Yu and abolished the Abdicating System after the death of Yu the Great, claiming himself the governor of the tribe and establishing the first hereditary dynasty - the Xia dynasty, which is also first slavery dynasty in Chinese history and followed by the Shang dynasty (1600 B.C.-1046 B.C.).

An Introduction to the History of China

As one of the four world-famous civilizations, the Chinese civilization (or Huaxia civilization) has a long history of more than 5,000 years (beginning with the legendary emperor Huangdi period), which is known to the people from all over the world for its vast territory with rich resources and large populations.

Generally speaking, the glorious Chinese civilization has two direct sources, one is the Yellow River civilization and the other is the Yangtze River civilization, both of which contribute to the communication, integration and sublimation of the whole Chinese civilization. Some historians assume that the definition of "history period" starts with the emergence of Chinese characters, before which it should be called pre-historic period. The legends went as that Fu Xi (the legendary figure) created the Eight Diagrams and Cang Jie created the ancient Chinese characters during the reign of emperor Huangdi, and the inscriptions on oracle bones from 3,000 years ago, the inscription on potteries from between 4,000 years ago and the blurring symbols from 5,000 years ago on the walls of caves unearthed in recent years.

From the perspective of politic and social patterns, the archeological documents show that the Central China had transited from the matriarchal clan society to the patriarchal society since the later period of later Peiligang Culture (7,000 years ago) and early period of Yangshao Culture (6,000 years ago), which directly resulted in the imbalance of the social equality.

It's recorded that monarch hereditary system had been formed since the Xia dynasty (2070 B.C.-1600 B.C.), and the feudalism well-established in the Western Zhou dynasty (1046 B.C.-771 B.C.) got apart in the Spring and Autumn Period (770 B.C.-476 B.C) and the Warring States Period (475 B.C.-221 B.C.). As the wheel of history rolls on to the Qin dynasty (221-206), Emperor Qinshihuang unified the whole country and established the first single unitary state in Chinese history by defeating his opponents one after another, introducing a uniformity of Weights and Measures, currencies and Chinese characters over the country. The tradition that the scholar-bureaucrats governed the country was taken into shape since the Western Han dynasty (206-25), which lasted to the Qing dynasty (1616-1911) and still has a substantial influence on China's politics today. The Revolution led by Sun Yet-sen in 1911 resulted in the collapse of the Qing dynasty, ending the 2,000-year feudal autocratic monarchy and establishing the Republic of China, which was amongst the most important events in the modern history of China. The Kuomintang led by Chiang Kai-shek launched the Chinese civil war in 1945, defeated and overthrown by the Chinese Communist Party led by Mao Zedong within three years. The People's Republic of China was established on 1st of October in 1949 with Mao Zedong as the first Chairman, and it has become more and more prosperous in all aspects since the reforming and opening-up policies of 1989, which forwards in leaps and bounds now.

A Short Guide to Timeshare

Timeshare is perhaps a thing you have already been aware of, a seeming relic of the 1980s where this specific form of holiday ownership really saw its most successful time. Now, those who are still aware of timeshare ownership believe it is symbolic of fraud, conmen and rip-offs. All these elements possess some association with the Timeshare market at one point or another, although they don't typify this kind of holiday ownership which may provide the owner degrees of high quality and extravagance for cheaper than you'd probably get your normal package holiday.

The timeshare market has experienced stronger times, the worldwide economic climate having prompted several blemishes in consumer confidence, and even more importantly customer spending. Without the monotonous details on the effect this has had on the market, it is important to note is that for people looking to buy timeshare there are plenty of rich pickings to be had - there's never been a better chance than now to build up some hot timeshare bargains.

Exactly what does this mean for many who currently own timeshares and are trying to sell them? The knowledge that you've you own flat within your much-loved resort to go back to, every single year, is a comfort to many, and it is truly one of the primary selling points of timeshares all together. However, there will come a time when you no longer wish to remain in the same vacation resort or even be unable to make the trip there. This scenario brings around a reasonably regular saying "how do I sell my timeshare?", selling a timeshare could very well be one of the hardest areas of vacation ownership, but only if you aren't sure who to turn to.

If you wish to safely and securely sell your timeshare, there are a number of possibilities; to go to the holiday resort and give it back to them - although a few resorts will likely not buy them back, and some may even charge you for the right! You can find private sale of course, websites like eBay, Craigslist and similar can be used for those seeking a few of the most cost effective bargains. Having said that, selling privately can be hugely frustrating as you'll still have to take care of the transference of the documents and the other legal procedures, such as the exchange of deeds and agreement.

For the most secure technique to sell your timeshare use a reseller or broker who is signed up with TATOC (or ARDA) and RDO, the governing bodies for the timeshare market in Europe and Northern America. A good reseller will provide free signing up and will help promote the timeshare for your benefit. Each time a buyer approaches you the resales rep will then hammer out a deal, manage the change of documents and legal process and you will then get your money at the end of the process.

Needless to say you'll have noticed, dodgy timeshare resellers out there who state they have buyers which do not exist and say they need hundreds and hundreds of pounds from yourself before they will process the sale. If someone calls you out of the blue with a proposal such as this, be cautious - always check using the Resort Development Organisation (RDO) or your local timeshare specialist initially to see if the organization are safe to work with.

So that's it, a timeshare is a form of vacation ownership where you can buy into a particular week (predetermined or differing) at a resort or inside a vacation club and take your holidays knowing you have got the right features and placement you could wish for or need. Make sure and familiarise yourself with the procedure of buying timeshares or selling timeshares first and you'll be prepared to start off your timeshare ownership.
